Job Description

A project director is a project management role in which an individual strategically oversees, monitors, and manages an IT project from an executive level. As the most responsible authority over a project, this individual is charged with managing the project management team and allocated resources.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Create project scopes, by establishing and validating business and technical requirements; obtaining input from subject-matter experts; examining and recommending changes to current business practices; developing and writing proposals.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resourcing, utilizing external vendors where necessary.
  • Expand Technology Department capabilities by sourcing, assessing, and managing new partners and vendors.
  • Manage external tech vendors effectively, maintaining project deadlines and budgets.
  • Manage and Conduct QA and UAT activities – Highly organized approach to scheduling project timelines, budget forecasting, and managing stakeholders and vendors.
  • Provide ongoing project management and consultation services within agreed scope and limitations, stated in the contract with client.
  • Manage resource allocations for multi-disciplinary teams effectively, within a given budget and timeline.
  • A highly organized approach to scheduling, forecasting, and managing vendors.
  • Coordinating with technology teams, technical producers, and comanaging schedules, both internal and external.
  • Stakeholder Management – need to be able to demonstrate proven stakeholder management skills (internal and external) as you will be expected to act as a conduit between core technology and the wider business. Proven experience working up to c-level is therefore mandatory.
  • Team Management & Leadership – Imperative that you bring proven leadership skills to the table as this role will see you take ownership for a portfolio of work, as well as line managing a large team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or a related field
  • 5-8 years of project management and related experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
